EVIDENCE BASED EXERCISE AND FALLS PREVENTION PROGRAMS FOR ALL FITNESS LEVELS

Evidence Based Programs (EBP's) offer proven ways to promote health and prevent disease among older adults. These programs are based on rigorous study and scientific evidence and are designed to lower the risk of chronic diseases and help prevent falls.

A MATTER OF BALANCE

A Matter of Balance is an 8-week structured group intervention that emphasizes practical strategies to reduce fear of falling and increase activity levels. Participants learn to view falls and fear of falling as controllable, set realistic goals to increase activity, change their environment to reduce fall risk factors, and exercise to increase strength and balance. Check out this video from the National Council on Aging for more information about A Matter of Balance!
